Sherrol Cassedy, JD

Sherrol Cassedy, JD, is a Certified Family Law Specialist, who after 20 years of family law practice, since 2005 has dedicated herself exclusively to mediation and private judging. She is the principal of Threshold Resources, devoted to marriage and divorce resolution, education and ritual. Ms. Cassedy has been a frequent lecturer on financial topics in family law such as stock options, tracing, premarital agreements and support. She is an adjunct faculty member at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology where she teaches Law and Ethics.  Ms. Cassedy was selected for Best lawyers in America, 2003, and was named the 2008 Fellow of the Year by the Northern California Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML).

Robin M. Deutsch, PhD

Robin M. Deutsch, PhD, (Founder) is a psychologist and the Director of the Center of Excellence for Children, Families and the Law at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology (MSPP).  She is the former director of Forensic Services of the Children and the Law Program in the Department of Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital where she remains a consultant.  She is Associate Clinical Professor of Psychology at Harvard Medical School.  As a therapist, consultant, custody evaluator, mediator, and parenting coordinator, her work has focused on the application of child development research to children’s adjustment to divorce and parenting issues, the evaluation of families involved in family change and management of high conflict divorce.  Dr. Deutsch frequently speaks to interdisciplinary groups on complex issues in child custody disputes.  She has provided training for Parenting Coordination throughout the country, Canada and Sweden and has published articles on the effects of high conflict divorce, the evaluation of domestic violence, Parenting Coordination, developmentally appropriate parenting plans, attachment considerations, interventions for alienated children, ethical issues, and adolescent issues.  She is the co-author of 7 Things Your Teenager Won’t Tell You (and How to Talk About Them Anyway) (Ballantine, 2005 and 2011).  Dr. Deutsch is a founding member of Overcoming Barriers and is past President of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC).  She served on the AFCC Task Force that developed Guidelines for Parenting Coordination (2005) and the American Psychological Association Task Force that developed Guidelines for Parenting Coordination (2011).  Dr. Deutsch is the former Chair of the American Psychological Association Ethics Committee (2007) and she is a 2006 recipient of the American Psychological Association Karl F. Heiser Presidential Award for Advocacy.

Marjorie Slabach, JD

Marjorie Slabach, JD, is a Certified Family Law Specialist and retired San Francisco Superior Court Commissioner in the Unified Family Court.  She is now a Private Judge doing case management and settlement conferences.  Prior to her tenure on the bench she worked with teenagers as an English teacher for many years.  She then chose to become a lawyer to represent parents and children.  She is a frequent lecturer and panel member educating attorneys and judges in the area off family law with a specialty in child custody.  She is a board member of the California Chapter of the Association of Family Court Conciliation where she heads a task force to explore alternative models for serving families in the court system.  She was named the 2010 Judicial Officer of the Year by the Family Law Section of the State Bar of California.

Matt Sullivan, PhD

Matt Sullivan, PhD, (Founder) is a psychologist who has written articles, presented and done trainings at numerous national and international venues on topics such as high-conflict divorce, Parent Coordination and child alienation and mental health consultation in family law cases.  He has served on the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) Task Force on Parenting Coordination and the American Psychological and American Bar Association mulit-year working group on legal psychological interventions with children and families.

Peggie Ward, PhD

Peggie Ward, PhD, (Founder) is a psychologist and Co-Founder of the Co-Parenting Assessment Center in Natick, MA.  She previously held an appointment at Harvard Medical School.  Dr. Ward has helped develop GAL Standards in MA and serves as Co-Chair of the MA Parenting Plan Committee.  She lectures on topics including alienation, parenting coordination, and advanced issues in GAL work.  Dr. Ward practices as a therapist, consultant, family systems evaluator, and parenting coordinator and is a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) MA Board of Directors.
