OCB Family Camp Cancelled Due to COVID-19 Pandemic

On March 30th our Board of Directors met and decided to cancel camp for this summer.

Given the evolving and uncertain COVID-19 situation we could not in good faith proceed with preparing for camp knowing there was a high likelihood of need to cancel later. The well being and safety of the families and staff at camp are our priority. While this news may be disappointing it is not unexpected given the current circumstances.

For things you can do at this time we’d like to suggest that parents read our publication Overcoming the Coparenting Trap: Essential Skills When a Child Resists a Parent by Dr. Jack Moran, Tyler Sullivan and Dr. Matt Sullivan. It can be found here. Our newest companion publication for coparents is being readied for publication by the summer and our Spanish translation of Overcoming the Coparenting Trap is in development. Often professionals provide these publications to their clients as useful resources.

At this time we do not have resources of direct service programs. Mental health professionals are unable to meet in person in most states and that makes any intensive immersion program impossible for the foreseeable future.

Please check our website where we will provide updated information on our future program offerings and other resources. If you’d like to be added to our e-newsletter list you may do that here.

The Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (www.afccnet.org) is a global professional organization of Judges, Attorneys and Mental Health Professionals. They have quite a lot of resources available here about being a coparent during the novel corona virus crisis.
